Area Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Vehicles, exterior walls and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.
The fluid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then discovered multiple other smeared cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement say initial examinations show the liquid was most likely human blood.
"There is still no lead as to its source; officials are presently not cognizant of any physical harm in relation with the event," they stated.
City officials announced they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the community for information.
An important representative stated the attack rendered him stunned and needed to be resolved quickly.
"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the pain of the far-right attack in 2020," he posted on social media, referring to the killing of nine people by a shooter aiming at people of immigrant origin in five years prior.
